[Highland Park] Courteous Snow Removal?

I'm wondering if it's possible for people to be a bit more cautious when removing snow from the sidewalks? My car had a lot of snow stuck to it this morning, blown all over it by a snow blower, and more snow pushed off the sidewalk and around the tires. I had a difficult time getting it onto the road. Last year the same thing happened and I had to find people to help me push my car out of the snow that was piled up around it. If you can push your snow into your yard, would you mind doing that? I know snow removal is a chore for us all, and I'm sorry to complain, but I don't have a driveway and have to park on the street. Thanks for your consideration!

The Community Design Center of Pittsburgh (CDCP) has been a great partner with the neighborhood's development projects over the years, but there is another CDCP program that has helped hundreds of Pittsburgh homeowners with their own renovation challenges, The RenPlan Program. For a reasonable fee, the CDCP will match up a volunteer design professional (architect, landscape architect, interior designer) for an initial consultation and problem-solving session. Some homeowners use the process to help them make early decisions and organize work that they take forward on their own, while others have hired the design professional for additional services once they've established a working relationship. Happy New Year Neighbors! With the new year comes new possibilities and opportunities to make a difference! Act locally! Not sure how many of you have been following local politics, but it is very interesting (and disappointing) indeed! (Our Councilman, Patrick Dowd, in my opinion, needs to check his loyalties!) We need to hold our Elected officials accountable for their actions taken (supposedly) on our behalf. But I digress... Most people only pay attention and vote during the presidential election year, but this year is a very important year. This year, all of PA's state reps are up for re-election (Dom Costa and Joe Preston), as well as Senator Jim Ferlo. In addition, this is the year that the democratic committee seats are up for election. (Republicans are in 2012). The committee positions are important because, in addition to other duties, they decide which candidates will be endorsed by the party in an election. Everyone, I just thought I'd share a great program with the list. They teach golf and life skills at the Bob O'Connor club house in Schenley Park (right off of Forbes Ave). In the winter they use a golf simulator. My boys who had no real prior interest in golf both love the program. The cost of the program is very reasonable and they offer reduced cost for lower-income families. My boys have done both the homeschool and the after school options and they really do a top-notch job. If you homeschool, the advantage is that there are usually fewer kids.
