I have also seen signs for "Got Junk?" , a contact that might be useful... 4 Try companies from West Virginia. My neighbor who buys and upgrades for sale get his from there because they are cheaper. I'm sorry I don't have any names for you. 5 I've used Brunner before and have been very happy with them. I'll be needing a dumpster in the next few weeks too and will be using them for sure. Good luck, 6 Highly recommend Crowley Roll Off 14123035017 Good luck, 7 I went with Phillips in Homewood... know that you need a permit if you can't get it into your driveway... Phillips delivered it on a friday and picked it up first thing Monday when the permit guys don't inspect... we had it in the street and invited neighbors to use it so no one would call. the permit is several hundred dollars but I can't remember exactly. 8 Depending on the building materials, you could probably donate alot of it to Construction Junction or Reuse Pittsburgh. 9 Don't forget that Construction Junction In Point Breeze will pick up used construction material and resell it and keep it out of the landfill. You may not need a dumpster! 10 I-800-Got Junk is reasonable, offers several sizes of dumptster, and lets you mix different kinds of stuff. 11. I don't know how much junk you have, but for smaller dumpsters, we have used - and highly recommend - Driveway Dumpsters. 412-760-1468 or www.drivewaydumpsters.com. You don't need a city permit if the dumpster is on your property. You do need a city permit if it is on the street.

Hello neighbors! I am hoping to find a family in Highland Park, Fox Chapel or surrounding areas that needs a babysitter. I have plenty of experience with children and will be pursuing a Master's degree in special education by next summer. I am a student at Pitt but have a flexible schedule in the fall so I would be able to continue babysitting through summer and into fall. I have watched over children from 8 months old to 10 years old and up to three children at the same time which makes me confident that I could fit into any family with ease. I usually babysit at a rate of $10/hr but this is negotiable. I have my own transportation. I can send you a copy of my clearances and resume. [Highland Park] Urban Active Childcare Issues

Hi Neighbors, I joined Urban Active during the preview, and purchased a plan that included "unlimited" childcare. I went to the gym on Monday, with my baby, and I arrived at 12:15. I was told by staff that there was no childcare available between 12-4. When I asked a manager about this, I was told that they planned on offering childcare in the afternoon at some point, but didn't have any plans to right now. When I purchased my membership and the childcare plan, I was told that the childcare facility is open during ALL gym hours. It's only fair that they honor their promises. If you, like me, joined this gym with the expectation of having childcare (whether or not you purchased it in your plan), please email the management and request that they staff their childcare center during gym hours, immediately. [Highland Park] DISTURBANCE & ARREST ON PORTLAND STREET AT 2:30 A.M.

I was awakened by a police dog barking. I looked out the window and there were 4 police cars, 2 suspects (male and female). Both were put into handcuffs and placed in separate police cars. They waited for a female police office to come and she pulled the female suspect out of the car and searched her. They also removed the male suspect from the car and searched him. The dog was out of the car most of the time barking frantically. Police backed up into a driveway and searched the bushes with flashlights. All this went on until 3:45 a.m. This was at Portland and Weston Way alley.

FOR SALE: Antique Formal Dining Set >>> Table with 3 leaves, 10 chairs >>> $400 or best reasonable offer. Pics available here http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/fuo/1794302378.html The set was manufactured by Chittenden & Eastman and is their Square Brand (original label on bottom of table http://www.burlington.lib.ia.us/genealogy/furniture.htm) The table extends to seat 10 comfortably. I don't know if the chairs originally went with the table or not. One of the arms on the head chair got broken in a move a few years ago and was glued back together. Because I inherited this dining set, I have no idea what was paid for it originally or how old it actually is. My best guess is approximately 60-75 years old. I know this isn't in the Highland Park area, but many of us who were upset to hear of the attack on East Liberty Boulevard on Memorial Day Weekend may want to remain alert throughout the entire east end..... Pittsburgh is very bike friendly, but these attacks are terrifying and do not encourage cycling. 8 attack bicyclist in North Point Breeze Tuesday, June 15, 2010 By Anthony Fenech, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette A man who was beaten last night in North Point Breeze while riding his bicycle home from work is recovering at UPMC Presbyterian's intensive care unit. Ryan Ferrence, 26, is expected to make a full recovery and could be released from the hospital tomorrow. The victim was identified as Mr. Ferrence by friend Matt Narvis. Police spokeswoman Diane Richard said multiple units responded to a 10:30 p.m. assault call in the 7500 block of Meade Street in North Point Breeze, just in front of East End Food Co-Op. Mr. Ferrence, who is an employee of the co-op, started to ride his bike home around 9:45, and was attacked by a group of eight people. As a witness went to help the victim, the group fled, including a man who took the victim's backpack. According to Ms. Richard, police searched the area for suspects, but were unsuccessful. Mr. Narvis said the victim suffered a broken collarbone, has bumps and bruises, but "is in good spirits."
