Neighbors Please note that the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform a neighborhood outreach concert this Friday night at East LIberty Presbyterian Church (corner of Penn and Highland). All proceeds will benefit music education programs in East Liberty. This is a great community event and a great fundraiser. There will be pre and post concerts by students in the benefiting programs. The ticket prices are only $10 for adults, $5 for college students, and seniors 65+; they are FREE for kids 18 and under who are accompanied by a parent/guardian. Pre concert at 6, PSO at 7. Neighbors, Any ideas where my friend, Meredith Fahey, might find some work as a server or a bartender? Meredith is a first-year grad student at Pitt, where she’s earning her master’s degree in public administration. She’d like to get a job at a high-end and/or busy restaurant or bar so she can make good tips. Meredith, 29, has a pretty interesting background. Prior to arriving in Pittsburgh, she worked for three years in the offices of Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., in Washington and Wisconsin. She also served two and a half years in the Peace Corps in Macedonia. Meredith speaks Macedonian (!), German and Bulgarian. She graduated from Wisconsin-Madison in 2004.
