Hi, I'm trying to do a survey of tick prevalence in pittsburgh neighborhoods. i was wondering how commonly folks have found ticks in their back yards (or the park) or had a family member get a tick bite. If you know where the tick came from (park or yard, neighborhood of Pittsburgh), even better. If you've had no problems, that's also an important data point. Email me your answers and I'd be happy to send out a summary. [Highland Park] Lost dog

Neighbors, This evening about 6:30 PM we found a pup with a red collar on Heberton Street in the 1100 block. My niece said she was limping but once we brought her in she seems just fine....probably a cold paw. She is a brindle color with some white on her paws and her tummy. She seems young by the amount of energy she has, and she is definitely a girl. We brought her in because of the cold. Please call us at 412-363-5821 as I know she misses you! Martha Schaefer

The "Exploring Our Anglican DNA" series continues this Sunday, December 12, at St. Andrew's, with two programs of interest. In Brooks Hall at the 10 a.m. "Coffee and Conversation" we will be seeing the second (of three) section of "The Story of Anglicanism," this one focusing on the period when "Henry VIII's often misunderstood break with papal authority initiates the shaping of classical Anglicanism." In Brooks Hall at 4 p.m., we continue our lecture/discussion series with the Rev. Dr. Philip Wainwright. The title, "Anglicanism's Doctrinal DNA." Hello neighbors! sorry I do not have a picture to include with this e-mail......but anyone have/own a large gray and white cat (about 15 +lbs); its ears oddly curl back a bit; very affectionate - does the kitty friendly figure 8 around the legs and is very well maintained. .....anyway, it is on our patio tonight, Tues., 12/7 - 9:15pm. It is eating and has water.....mind you there are 2 other cats out there as well - but they have been around for sometime so we know they 'belong' here and have claimed their territory. This gray and white one must have gotten out - I have seen it sporadically meowing for attention and sometimes a snack. Just would like to know it does belong to someone and has a safe/warm home when it chooses to leave our patio. if you can let me know 'it' is yours! Thanks! Sue :)

Sacred Heart Parish Loretta's Christmas Cookie and Candy Walk When: Sunday, December 12, 2010 Time: 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Where: Sacred Heart School Cafeteria 325 Emerson Street Shadyside Over forty different types of cookies, candies, and Christmas treats will be displayed for sale. Buyers will be given a box or boxes to fill with as many different kinds of cookies they would like. The cookies will then be weighed and will sell for $8.00 a pound. Some cookies and candies will be sold for individual prices. Our Chinese Auction will be featuring many exciting items and baskets including beautiful Christmas Centerpieces, gift card baskets, and a Christmas basket, just to name a few.
