Seedling Sale! I'm selling these seedlings all for the minimal price of $1 each: -Delicious Tomatoes (large kind) -Roma Tomatoes -Cherry Tomatoes -Bell peppers -Banana peppers -Basil These are great seedlings because: - I grew them all from seed in homemade compost right in the neighborhood. - They're grown in reused containers. - The tomato seeds are organic. - The pepper seeds I saved from last year's homegrown peppers. - They will grow into great produce for you to enjoy! [Highland Park] art lessons for children and adults

Hello neighbors, I am a former art teacher (I worked with grades kindergarten through 8th) and would really love to start teaching here in the neighborhood. I'm working on getting a space to teach at the Union Project, but would like to gauge interest in the neighborhood before securing anything. I'd be willing to come to your home to give private lessons, as well. I'm comfortable teaching any age or catering to any ability level, and can offer instruction in the following 2-dimensional areas: *watercolor *drawing (pencil, colored pencil, pen & ink, charcoal, pastels) *ink wash *acrylic *oil I specialize in portraiture and realism and have a Bachelors of Fine Art degree from Maryland Institute, College of Art. My rate is $25 per hour lesson which includes the cost of materials. For one-on-one lessons at your house I charge $35 an hour. These can be short- or long-term depending on what you're seeking. [Highland Park] Oven repair help

Dear neighbors, Our gas oven smells strongly of gas when we pre-heat it and when we first turn it on. This smell has been lasting longer and longer as we've used the oven, and now we think it probably has a problem that could be a safety hazard. Do any of you have recommendations for someone who can repair the oven and its connection to the gas line? Our oven brand is Frigidaire Gallery if that helps. If all else fails, we'll have to call in a Sears person, which can cost quite a bit. Thanks, Neepa Majumdar

Hi Richard, The next yard debris date is November 12. However, I'm assuming you don't want to wait that long, so here are two other options for you. 1) You can still recycle yard debris (loose or in paper bags) at the East End Recycling Center located at the intersection of Dallas Ave & Hamilton Ave. You must bring a PA license with your city address to show that you are city resident. Their hours are generally M-F 8 am-2pm. Call 412-665-3609 for Saturday hours or other questions. 2) You can bag your yard debris or tie up branches and leave them at the curb on any week to have them collected, although these will be dumped instead of composted.
