Hi, I need to repair a small speaker box that has a broken front and I need to find some 3/8” thick plywood or any other type of wood that is at least 6” x 8” x 3/8”. Hopefully someone will have some scrap that they no longer need? I can cut what I need from a large piece, so the only dimension that needs to be for sure is the 3/8” thickness. [Highland Park] Tree tenders needed - sign up to keep our trees happy

I know, you've been receiving a lot of solicitations to help with the trees this fall. Maybe we didn't schedule so well, but it's fall and Highland Park trees are calling. There is a tree planting on Saturday, Nov. 4th (in the morning). You have been receiving emails from Nancy Levine-Arnold about this. There is also a tree tending on Tuesday, October 18th (after work at 5:30) and that is what I'm asking for help with here. Tree planting is self explanatory. It's fun and rewarding. Tree tending is the follow-up to planting. We give the recently planted trees some fresh mulch and dig up the weeds that have grown around their bases. It's a good way for school kids to perform community service or for groups to plan activities (i.e., the Scouts, 4H, religious groups, etc). So, if you can spare some time for either project, please let us know. Thanks so much. Jean Clickner

Greetings Neighbors, Pittsburgh Trail Advocacy Group (PTAG) will be hosting a volunteer workday next Sunday, October 16th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. We will be meeting at Hawthorne Grove on Lake Drive across from the volleyball courts (next to the swimming pool). We will be building a new trail on the wooded hillside between Lake Dr. and Washington Blvd, tasks will range from digging to trash pick-up. Tools will be provided but please bring work gloves and sturdy shoes.
