*Penn's Corner Farm Alliance is very happy to open sign up for our very first Winter CSA Season! * The Union Project, at the corner of Stanton and N. Negley Ave has graciously offered to be a pick-up site for our Winter CSA. Deliveries will be every other week on Tuesdays from December through March. There will be a total of 8 deliveries (excludes the week of Christmas). Cost for the share is $330 ($320 for members that pay in full by check!). This share will include eggs, cheese, potatoes, beets, turnips, lettuce, greens, microgreens, garlic, onions, mushrooms, squash, apples, cider, bread, cabbage, honey, leeks, oats, lifits, flour, and popcorn. Just saw two lawn service fellows Friday morning at the corner of Highland and Hampton on the hill side, one with a leaf blower, the other with a rake, send leaves into the intersection, rather than collect and bag them. HELP MAKE HIGHLAND PARK MORE BEAUTIFUL! WHAT: Volunteer to plant trees in our neighborhood. The trees are free, but we need to plant them. WHEN: Saturday November 5, 2011 at 8:45 am. Rain, shine or snow! WHERE: Meet at the corner of Heberton and Bryant streets. We will plant 40 trees on Heberton and Winterton and nearby streets. There will be snacks, coffee and lunch. WHO: There is something for everyone to do! Children ages 8 and older are encouraged to help along with their parents or a responsible adult. We will have activities for younger children.
