I have a lot of nice, robust perennial plants on offer. Some are already well-potted, others can be dug as desired. A few could become invasive, but that also means they are easy to establish, and I can give tips for growing them nicely. I am selling here, but VERY cheaply, or for barter (need more pots), or some free (please bring containers, boxes, etc. if you can use a lot). Mostly: Feverfew (blooms all summer, has traditional medicinal properties). Echinacea paradoxa (yellow cone flower), long bloomer. Some lamb's ears (Stachys byzantin). Ajuga (called bugleweed, will bloom and spread in semi-shade). Sedum (stonecrop, good in full sun and drought tolerant). Pachysandra, myrtle. Ivy. [Highland Park] SOUNDWAVES youth steelband program | Kelly Strayhorn Theater

SOUNDWAVES is a full-scholarship intensive steelband music program designed for talented students (ages 12–17) to develop and hone their musical skills, presented by the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in partnership with the Union Project. Ten students will be selected to participate in an intensive six-week program consisting of 18 sessions, held Tuesday–Thursdays from 4–6 pm. Participants will be required to attend every session. The program will culminate in a special performance on May 30, 2012 at Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Avenue in East Liberty. The program is designed for students interested in a broad range of musical styles, with an interest in developing their skills. Training sessions will take place at Union Project, located at801 North Negley Avenue in Highland Park. World-renowned teachers will guide students as they advance their technique, gain experience in performing with an ensemble, and practice performing for an audience. This one-of-a-kind project provides young musicians a platform to expand their interests in music and a chance to make invaluable connections in the music scene in Pittsburgh and beyond. Families of the parish and neighborhood are invited to the annual Holy Saturday Easter Egg Coloring morning at St. Andrew's Church, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7. We are invited to bring a dozen hard-boiled eggs to color and then take home for our family Easter Morning, and another dozen to contribute to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in the St. Andrew's Churchyard, which will begin at about 12:15 p.m. on Easter Sunday, at the conclusion of the 11 a.m. Festival Service. Great Three Hours of Good Friday The St. Andrew's Parish Choir, under the direction of Peter Luley, will offer a choral service for the Third Hour of Good Friday, beginning at 2 p.m. tomorrow, April 6. The choral service will include: "Blessed Are They" (from Ein deutsches Requiem), Johannes Brahms (1833-1897); "The Lamentation of Jeremiah," -Edward Bairstow (1874-1946); "Drop, Drop, Slow Tears," Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625); "Christus Factus Est," Anton Bruckner (1824-18960; "Three Angels Were Singing," German, 13th century; "O Vos Omnes," Carlo Gesualdo (1560-1613); and the "Crux Fidelius," -att. King John IV of Portugal (1603-1656). The observance of the Great Three Hours at St. Andrew's will begin with the First Hour at noon with Stations of the Cross. At 1 p.m. the Second Hour will be the Prayer Book Service for Good Friday, with hymns, meditations, the Solemn Collects, and the Passion according to St. John.
