Hello! We got this adorable yard sign a week ago that says "Ban Guns, Not Books" and there's a rainbow behind the statement. Cute, right? Important statement, right? We thought so too. But since we put it up there was a bloody disgusting diaper left in front of it and then today there was animal (I hope) feces spread all over our sidewalk right in front of it. Now it is possible that both of these things are just coincidence and that someone just doesn't know how to clean up after their dog. But it's also possible that someone is trying to make a really shitty statement. Let's take care of each other, clean up after ourselves, look out for each other, and ban guns, not books. Winter clothing and supplies

Just wanted to put some feelers out for donations and resources for the upcoming winter. I’m working on a list of free resources for food and clothing in the East End, mostly accessible by bus. If you have any leads in those two categories please let me know. I’m also collecting donations for new and gently used winter items: coats, hats, gloves, scarves, thick socks, etc. Other items that are always in need and greatly appreciated: underwears, baby wipes, water bottles, mini toiletries, especially deodorant, menstrual products, and reusable bags of any size. You can drop any donations off at my house on N Sheridan. These items will be going to East Liberty Presbyterian Church’s free Chapel Market, the women’s shelter, and East End Cooperative Ministry. If you have an abundance, our brownie troop is building bags to give to unhoused/ homeless individuals. If you happen to have lots of minis, we’d be happy to include them. Same goes for extra menstrual products. You can drop off at my porch or I can grab them later this week. Our assembly is Friday afternoon. Thanks! Kimberly
