I sent an email for the HP ListServe but forgot the pictures. Here it is again but the time with pictures. Various new and used bicycling accessories for sale, plus a bluetooth, wireless waterproof speaker that hooks to hang from a handlebar or just about anything or else stand on its own. Location is in between Shadyside and Oakland but I’m willing to deliver in that area and also Squirrel Hill, East Liberty and Highland Park. Let me know if you want more pictures of any items. 1. Serfas True305 bicycle LED headlight. Black. Quick-release. Fast micro-USB rechargeable lithium ion battery $15 (Model USL-305, retalled for $40-50). So bright, yet so very compact and light weight (4.1 ounces or 116 grams, including the bracket). Includes 2-piece, adjustable mounting handlebar bracket with pivot feature so you can fully expose the release lever when you want to remove the light and take it with you (to prevent its theft or to use as a flashlight). 305 Lumen Output is super bright and lights up street signs far away, including a 180 degree side visibility. Set it to steady light, or else set to blinking by holding down the on/off button briefly. That's easy! Light modes: high, medium, low, and flash. 2. Louis Garneau bike shoe covers, Unisex Size Small, black, New, never worn. $14. Designed to shield your feet against road spray, precipitation, biting wind, and general wintery chills. Hook-and-loop closure . The active ingredient is 2mm of neoprene layered on nylon and PVC. Fits over lugged soles and three-bolt road bike shoes. I wear a women's 9 (EU 40) and these fit my cycling shoes. The size only says Small so I believe they are not mens or Womens but UNIsex. Tall cuff reduces gap between to tights or warmers. Reflective name Garneau adds visibility while pedaling in low-light conditions 3. Knog Oi bicycle bell for handlebar. $14. Sleek, slim design. Black, for larger sized bars. The mount is made of strong, reinforced nylon; the bell features anodized finishes. PLEASE, make sure you know where you want to place the bell to know whether this size Large will fit. It comes with some spacers to fit smaller tube diameters but it has a maximum diameter of 32 mm (1.25" diameter max). [NOTE: They also make size small, which fits 22.2mm mountain bike bars (near the grips), BMX and some old commuter bikes. I expect the spacers will NOT take it down to equal the 22mm size Small.] 4. I scratched the screen in one section long ago, but still found it easy to read because the info is all displayed so large and clearly. Easy to set up instructions/user manual on Cateye's website. Set up is easy and info is available online on Cateye's website. New design's single-button operation makes it easy to use. Even comes preprogrammed for most popular tire sizes. Functions: Current speed; maximum speed; Average speed; Trip distance Total distance; Elapsed time; Clock Features: Auto start / stop; Pace arrow; Simple tire size; Programmable odometer; Thin zip tie mounts are compatible with the included universal bracket 7. Polk Audio - Boom Swimmer Jr - Bluetooth Outdoor Speaker Waterproof - Black -NEW. $15. Rechargeable with the included micro-USB charging cable. Hangs easily by using its integral, flexible hook/tail to dangle from a bicycle handlebar or other object, or stand it up on its own. Includes a container with an integral stand mount, the lid has a loop to carry easily. Great sound, they say. Use with cell phone as a speaker. Directions included. Hello neighbors, Sharing the sad news that Roland Ford has passed away, according to posts from his family to his Facebook page. I didn’t know Roland personally but I sure enjoyed line dancing with him in the park. Jazz Sundays won’t be the same without him. Sending condolences to any of Roland’s family and friends in the neighborhood.

Heth's Run in newsletter

I just read the article in the HPCC newsletter about the history of the Heth's Run restoration project. Especially for newer residents like me, I highly recommend this piece by David Hance. I was not aware of how long the neighborhood has been working with the city to restore this important natural resource which is currently the zoo parking lot. Nor was I aware of the lack of cooperation by the zoo in these efforts, an institution that claims to prioritize sustainability, as David points out. I read it in the print newsletter and am not seeing how to access October's newsletter online yet, but perhaps a link could be shared.

The HPCC wanted to update the neighborhood about the two HPCC events this weekend: *The Bryant St. Parklet Clean Up and the Pumpkin Patch!* - *Parklet Cleanup on Saturday, Oct 14th:* Unfortunately, we are going to cancel the parklet clean up due to the forecasted rain. If you'd like to volunteer pulling weeds or helping in any other way, please let us know and we'll work to make that happen. - *Pumpkin Patch at Bryant St Parklet on Sunday, Oct 15th, 11am-2pm:* We are on! Come pick out a pumpkin for the season (free/donations accepted), get a photo next to the hay bails, and kids can paint a pumpkin (Thanks, Highland Park Garden Club!). * The pumpkin painting is weather permitting. It's forecasted to be cloudy but we should be out there! Hope to see you at these fun neighborhood events!
