Hello neighbors, with some of the local schools closing or consolidating, I wanted to send an update about enrollment at Pittsburgh Urban Christian School (PUCS): - We have space in Pre-K 4 and grades 2-7, but kindergarten and first grade are currently full. We welcome you to apply, and we will be happy to assess all students, but will have to wait list kindergartners and first grade at this time. - We do currently have financial aid available, but it is running out quickly. - There is a large contingent of students from Highland Park and Morningside, and a bus that comes from those neighborhoods straight to PUCS in Wilkinsburg. Neighbors, It was just over 2 years ago that I sent out the first request here to this list! I had befriended a Syrian family that lived in Highland Park and I was looking for resources for them. I started volunteering at a resettlement agency and emailed this group about house items to furnish apartments for new arrivals. Then I started Hello Neighbor <https://www.helloneighbor.io/>, a mentorship program for refugee families. Since then, many of you have applied and become mentors, volunteered, donated, dropped countless items off on my doorstep (carseats and baby clothes galore!) So you've seen Hello Neighbor grow since the very very beginning. We are now a mighty staff of two (both Highland Park residents!), plus 10 interpreters, volunteers, interns...soon to be a PULSE fellow. We're growing! It made so much sense to me that our first big (I hope!) fundraiser would be in our neighborhood. H - on the remote chance that a package to 6100 Bryant St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206- from Yoga Balm was delivered to you house either Friday, August 16th or Saturday, August 17th, could you let me know and I will come and get it. It came from USPS and they scanned that it was delivered. Hello, For anyone that has participated in the member prepaid service with Massage Heights-Bakery Square location and is not able to use the credits prior to their closure on 8-29-19, I encourage you to contact the Consumer Reporter at Channel 4, Paul Van Osdol. He will be doing a story on the situation where Massage Heights has not intention to issue refunds to customers for any unused credits. Weeds and Jazz

Jazz in Highland Park is in full swing and hundreds of jazz lovers are visiting our park every Sunday evening. Please help keep it looking beautiful by joining the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and your neighbors Wednesday, August 21st from 5-7 PM for some weed pulling. Meet at the fountain and help for a few minutes or the entire 2 hours. Every weed pulled helps.
