MESSAGE FROM OWNER"Lost in East Brookline Saved from a house fire and is lost. There have been no sightings CALL 412-709-7218. Yorkie is missing after house fire which resulted in a occupant, dog and cat succumbing to the blaze. if anyone knows anything or was at the fire and may have saw something please call Kathy Husak. A cat was also rescued and was taken to Humane Society and later reunited with its owner. Someone may Have felt they were rescuing the dog and its owner died but the owner survived and is Desperately searching for Keelee " DESCRIPTION 6.5 pound Yorkie was saved from fire on 2/11/20 Pioneer Ave Brookline but went missing owner Kelly Husak desperately wants to find her if you were at the fire and saw anything please contact DATE LAST SEEN February 11, 2020

Hi neighbors, This morning when I was leaving for work I noticed a pink backpack and what appeared to be all its prior contents strewn across Mellon street between Stanton and Jackson. I tried to see if I could find a wallet or ID, but didn't see one. There was lots of other stuff though. In case this sounds like yours and you had it stolen from you, seems it was ditched on Mellon -- so sorry. Not sure if anything is salvageable. Lena

Gardening class Wednesday

Hello again HPers! This week's From Planning to Canning class is so exciting! Sure, it's only February, but it is time to get your garden plants started! We will: •Plant flower, vegetable and herb seeds •Start cuttings from an array of plants (succulents, berries, fruit trees, ornamentals) •Discuss the botany of seeds, germination and rooting •Use rooting hormone •Learn about light, heat, water and nutritional needs of new plants •Discuss germination rate and learn how to determine it for older seeds. EVERYONE WILL GO HOME WITH AT LEAST ONE FUTURE PLANT! Soil, seeds and pots will be provided. However, if you want to plant a whole bunch of anything and think you'll need larger pots, please bring your own. Class is on Wednesday, and two sessions are available: a morning session from 9:30 to 11:30 am, and an evening session from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Classes will be held at Temple Sinai, 5505 Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill, 15217 (the corner of Forbes and Murdoch). The entrance is off of Forbes Avenue, between the two large stone columns. We will meet in room 206 of the school. Classes are $20 each, and I accept cash, check, major credit cards and PayPal. (Sliding scale available. No cost if it's a hardship.)
