garden buddy?

Hello HPers, I had an idea for summer traveling. Does anyone in the neighborhood want to be a "garden buddy" with me? This would entail watering/caring for the other's garden when they travel in exchange for them caring for your garden when you travel. We have two summer trips planned, and are cutting back our garden because of that, but would still love my flowers to be watered. Anyone have an interest in this? Thanks! Susan

Dear Neighbors, Awesome turn out for our last collection, as we picked up the much needed items from many of our neighbors, and delivered them to NRP, where they were gratefully appreciated !!! We are again letting our neighborhood know that we, Mike and Brigette Nadler, will be driving the neighborhood picking up for the monthly NRP (Formally FOCUS) Collection this coming Wednesday, 06 APR 22. We will be around the neighborhood starting at 9:00 AM that morning, and we are looking for non-perishable food to restock their pantry, as well as useable Clothing that is clean and sorted. Bach Choir "Frankenstein Reimagined" Concert April 23 & 24

The Bach Choir is having an event you don't want to miss! They're going to be showing the 1931 classic film Frankenstein (the one with Boris Karloff) at the Oaks Theater in Oakmont, and singing 1970s R&B and Funk as part of the soundtrack. Details are in the attached flyer. This is a world premier and truly art in the making - a unique, one-of-a-kind experience. The Oaks Theatre is an Art Deco building with some real charm and a nice bar area. There is plenty of on-street parking everywhere in Oakmont, and the restaurants along Allegheny Boulevard are excellent! The band, led by bassist Paul Thompson, will include keyboard, bass, guitar, saxophone and percussion. Masks and proof of vaccination are required. Family in need

Our family delivered food through 412 food rescue today to a family in McKees rocks. We connected and talked via translator (they speak Pashto) and Learned a great deal about the family. He was in the Afghan military training with United States and in August of last year was shot by the Taliban and stepped on a landmine. The United States brought him here and he has had multiple surgeries. He is on crutches still recovery. He has 3 children (all girls 2 yo 1 yo and 2 month old) and a wife. They have very very little 2 bedroom apartment with 2 beds and a couch. They do get food stamps but I am hoping to collect and buy some clothes and toys for the kids.
