Our family delivered food through 412 food rescue today to a family in McKees rocks. We connected and talked via translator (they speak Pashto) and Learned a great deal about the family. He was in the Afghan military training with United States and in August of last year was shot by the Taliban and stepped on a landmine. The United States brought him here and he has had multiple surgeries. He is on crutches still recovery. He has 3 children (all girls 2 yo 1 yo and 2 month old) and a wife. They have very very little 2 bedroom apartment with 2 beds and a couch. They do get food stamps but I am hoping to collect and buy some clothes and toys for the kids.
