In response to the need for social distancing, the State Legislature voted to move this year's primary elections to June 2. They also provided county elections offices the authority to consolidate polling locations as needed since many sites are now closed and some poll workers are unavailable. We will post information about voting locations as it becomes available. Voting by mail is now an option for everyone in Pennsylvania. It's an easy, convenient and secure way to cast your ballot. PPS Resuming Instruction April 14

Pittsburgh Post Gazette March 27, 2020 According to the article, buildings will remain closed but mandatory lessons in a variety of formats will start April 14. According to the district's Chief Academic Officer, "We’re doing our best to address as much as the current instructional day that students have in all grade levels.” They will also be evaluating what changes, if any, will need to be made to ensure that seniors can graduate. The district has been assessing the technology needs of students over the past week and it asked parents to fill out a survey that is available online (see link below) and at grab and go meal locations. They are developing online materials, physical packets, and materials for students who are English-learners. Stolen Compost Bucket

We use a composting service, where we put out our bucket of food scraps and it gets changed out and a new one is placed on our porch. Today when I went out to pick up the bucket in the afternoon it was missing. This is the second time we’ve had this happen. I’m not sure if someone is stealing it( don’t know why anyone would want a food scrap bucket) but if you see it or know anything please let me know. It’s a white bucket with a black lid with a “Shadyside Worms” sticker on the lid. Thanks, Erin
