Hello, I am looking for a female roommate to live with me in the 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment in Walnut Capital's Hobart Court apartment in Squirrel Hill. About the place: Total rent is $1318 which we would split evenly. Rent includes A/C, water/sewage, trash and free off street parking nearby. Laundry in building. Electricity and internet is separate so I'm thinking about $700 per month in total with rent and utilities. Safe and quiet neighborhood, close to Schenley park, free shuttles to Pitt, CMU, and Bakery Square through the rental company. Beautiful natural light since there are big windows in the living room. Available to move in June 11th. It is not furnished but I would be willing to split cost of cheap furniture. About me: I am a 27 year old female doctoral student at Chatham. I have a super friendly cat so I hope you aren't allergic. I also have a boyfriend whom I anticipate coming over occasionally. I plan to spend the days out of the apartment and evenings cooking/meal prepping, studying, and/or sleeping. I'm clean, respectful, bubbly in personality, quiet, non smoker, light social drinker, lover of sleep, and non drug user. Free straw - 1/2 bale

Hello, We have at least half a bale of straw that we don't need if anyone has a use for it. We planted some grass and a full bale was just more than we needed. You can pick it up Saturday in Bloomfield. Thanks

Piles of poop!

Someone has decided that the gardens that back onto Costar Way are their dogs personal bathroom, and that my neighbors and I are their dogs bathroom attendants. We would like to let you know, whoever you are; that this is NOT the case. Pick up after your pets please. Beyond being disgusting, and deeply inconsiderate; it is actually hazardous. We have numerous families with small children who play here, and this matter is particularly dangerous for these young metabolisms. Pick up after your pets! Also worth considering is the fact that; I’m not beyond picking it up, and throwing it at you, if I see you walking away from it. Pick up after your pets pretty please with sugar on top! Hummingbirds

It’s time to break out the hummingbird feeders again, and prepare to welcome back those delightful, staggering feathered bees that dart impossibly about our gardens. I’d like to offer a couple bits of advice that will hopefully better arm you to lure them in, and enjoy them for the next several months. They are usually still on their migration north right now, but evidence shows they are ahead of schedule this year, and being ready to greet them greatly improves your chances of drawing them to your homes for the season. The males arrive first, and act as scouts. They will build nests close to food sources, so get your feeders out, plant red flowers. Start making your nectar. Not sure how to do that?, well here’s the simple recipe: Dissolve 1 cup of plain white sugar in 4 cups of water. Personally; I recommend boiling the water, this makes dissolving easier. Let it cool before filling feeders, and any spare can be refrigerated, and remains useful for at least a week. That’s it, talk about simple syrup. Please do NOT use the red stuff they sell in the stores, or that often come with feeders. This stuff is regularly actually harmful to the birds, and, from a practical standpoint; far more expensive than the simple syrup that all authorities (Audubon, etc) recommend. It is true the birds are attracted to red, but there is literally zero need to color the liquid.
