Gardening Class!

Hey neighbors! This week's class is called "How Does Your Garden Grow?" We'll learn about the horticultural vocabulary in catalogs, on seed packets, etc. (heirloom, GMO, open-pollinated, annual, perennial, hybrid, graft, etc) and discuss how knowing what it all means will help to you to make better decisions for the environment, your pocket book, your calendar and your sanity! The cost is $10/person (cash, check or credit), but there's a 10% discount if you're in a garden club or pay for 5 or more classes at one time. Classes are free for anyone on a fixed income or any type of assistance. Basically: don't let the cost keep you from attending. The class meets on Wednesday evening, 6:30-8:30 pm. welcome neighbor signs

Hello neighbors, So many people have asked where we got out neighbor-welcoming sign (No matter where you're from, we're glad you're our neighbor) that I decided to research how to place a bulk order. Turns out we can get them from Staples for about $15/sign. Sadly, this is $5 more than the original bulk order, but I can't find the printer used that time around. It takes about a week to have the signs made and they come with the H-frame to post them into the ground. If you would like one, please e-mail me by Wednesday, March 1st. The more orders we get, the less expensive they will be and the more welcoming our neighborhoods become in the face of this onslaught of xenophobia and bigotry. A waterproofing company to avoid at all costs

Hi neighbors: for those following the saga of our basement, it did not end happily. The basement is now dry, thanks to a terrific plumber who fixed the sub-par job the waterproofing company we originally hired did. That company had crews who didn't know what they were doing and cut corners (literally) all over the place, and our basement still leaked even after they tried to fix the problems I, a layperson, saw. I Hoping to save folks headaches and a visit to the magistrate. Will supply name on backchannel. Joy
