I now invite you to my inaugural YogaRoots On Location Certified 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, which is scheduled to commence September 9th. Free items - desk & chest

Hi everyone - We’re clearing out our basement and have two things to get rid of that I thought someone on the list might want. Both are free to the first taker - they are in need of some TLC but could be pretty awesome when cleaned up. Photos of both are attached. The first is a super sturdy, very large old desk. Dimensions are 31” high x 60" wide x 34" deep. We found it in our basement when we moved here; some of the drawers are locked and it could stand to be refinished. The back is finished as well so it doesn’t need to be placed against a wall. It could be a really great addition to an office with a little time & elbow grease. Please note that it’s pretty heavy - you would definitely need a couple of strong people & a truck or minivan for this. The second is an old, old wooden chest that could use some love. We need to get these out of our basement ASAP - if you’re interested, please shoot me an email. Thanks! Megan

Awesome sewing studio & fabric shop around the corner!

Hi everyone - I just wanted to post here about a little neighborhood treasure to be found nearby, in case anyone hasn’t heard about it yet - the new pairing of Cut + Sew Studio and Loom Exquisite Textiles in Morningside. (http://cutandsewstudio.com & http://www.loomshowroom.com) Cut + Sew used to be in HP (right by Bryant Street Market) but moved to a new location at 1747 Chislett Street - with lots more space and *so* much natural light. There are tons of sewing machines, huge tables for cutting fabric, and all the tools you need to sew up something beautiful. They offer classes for all skill levels, and many classes for kids. And if you already know what you’re doing and just want to work independently, they offer Open Studio times for $10/hr - great for friends who want to meet up to get to work on something crafty. Loom Exquisite Textiles has had a location in the Strip District for a long time, but opened a new shop right next to Cut + Sew at 1745 Chislett, with so much beautiful fabric, really cool buttons & ribbon, and all the notions you need to get started on a project right away. Just thought I’d mention this to the list, as both are definitely worth a visit. Shopping there is a great way to support local businesses! Thanks - Megan
