If you found the Highland Park pool a peaceful and welcoming place this summer, let the city aquatics director know. Phone: 412-233-7928 (I just left a message on the recording.) When I stopped to compliment Miss Tina at the entry, she said they've worked hard this summer to keep the atmosphere calm and enforce the rules. Animal trapping and removal?

Can anybody help us with a groundhog problem? Earlier this week something ate the majority of our broccoli plant and florets. It was a bit puzzling, since 90% of the back yard is fenced. Yesterday we saw the culprit: a bushy groundhog on our front steps, that's most likely living under our porch. Does anybody have a live capture animal trap we could borrow? (Groundhog sized, of course. Not sure of his exact dimensions!) Also, is Animal Control the only way to have the animal removed in the city? Do they euthanize? I was hoping to find a way to have this problem taken care of without the animal having to lose its life. Thanks in advance for your help! Jess
