Free boys summer play and beach shoes. The brown Keens, flip flops and water shoes are size 4. The blue Keens are size 5. These shoes are worn but there is still at least one more summer in each pair. We do have cats and a dog, so if allergens are an issue, please do not request. Please let me know if you are interested. If you want the size 4 shoes, you must take all 3 pairs. I will separate out the size 5 Keens. Free. I believe in paying it forward! Thank you. Joan

[Highland Park] Sunday brunch-yum!

Hi Neighbors! We're having a brunch to benefit the instrumental department at CAPA this Sunday, April 6 from 11-2 at the Pgh Theological Seminary on Highland Ave across from Pgh Obama (ex-Peabody). It's $8 a plate (kids five and under eat for free), and the students will be playing in different ensembles throughout the day. If you've never been in the Seminary, I highly recommend you coming to see it. It's a beautiful campus and the room we're using is an old-fashioned dining hall with some not-so-old-fashioned skylights. It's going to be a lovely event. You can get tickets from me in advance or just show up and pay at the door. There will be a 50/50 raffle as well, for those of you who are feeling especially lucky. :-) I have attached a flyer with my contact info if you have any questions. Drastic budget cuts to our schools (especially for the arts) have taken their toll on our children's education, so as parents we have taken it upon ourselves to try to fill the widening gaps. [Highland Park] Bread and Pastries from La Gourmandine and Olive Oil Tasting Class

Hi, neighbors! Olive & Marlowe in East Liberty will have fresh bread and pastries on Saturday, as we do every weekend, from La Gourmandine Bakery. Save yourself the drive and the long wait in line (unless you're into that sort of thing). Also, next Sunday, April 13th, we'll be holding an olive oil tasting class. It is free and open to the public; just bring a clear palate and be ready to taste of bunch of different olive oils. We'll be discussing taste characteristics of high quality and sub-par oils so you'll know what to look for. The course begins at 4:00 and will run till about 5:15. If you plan to attend we just ask that you send us an e-mail to let us know so we can keep track of numbers and be sure that we stay below capacity.
