Hi all, I want to invite you to an great event occurring next Thursday, Feb 13 from 6:30-8pm at the Carnegie Museum of Art in the Music Hall. It is FREE; if you are an educator, you can receive Act 48 credit (or DPW/PQAS hours) for FREE, and there is a FREE networking reception following. It will be a lively event! Neighbors - PLEASE!!!! Clear your sidewalks of ice and snow. Some people are scrupulous about keeping their sidewalks clear. Thank you! Some people scrape the snow off and leave a layer of ice. Not so good. Many people never do anything. Really?!?! Sidewalks in Highland Park have been treacherous this winter. If you want to brag about the neighborhood, then maintain your property so pedestrians can safely walk. Thank you, Jan

[Highland Park] Window Brand Indentification?

We have windows throughout our home that have broken handles. We can't find any brand information on them to order replacement parts. If anyone "knows" windows and can correctly identify the brand and/or point us to a place where we can order the correct parts, we'd pay you $20 to just come over and spend 5 minutes of your time to do so. I'm on N Saint Clair near Stanton.... please shoot me an email if you're interested and we'll set up a time for you to pop over. These are more modern double pane white vinyl (?) windows, but possibly 10+ years old. Many thanks! April

Hello Neighbors: Please join the NLA for an Everybody Graduates introductory meeting next Friday February 14th at 7:30 AM at Crazy Mocha (5607 Baum Blvd). The Neighborhood Learning Alliance is looking for volunteers for its 'Everybody Graduates' program which will be launched at the Obama Academy this Spring. The goal of the 'Everybody Graduates' is to increase the number of students graduating from our local public schools by pairing students with local volunteers. Pittsburgh Obama is a great location to pilot this program. The great majority of Obama students are succeeding, but some Obama students need help with credit recovery in order to graduate.
