I don't have a picture yet, but thought I would go ahead and post. The bed mattress has never been used. It is a two pillow model with velvet like burgundy upholstery. [Highland Park] FREE desk, unassembled

Hi neighbors - Our house is going up for sale at the end of the week, and we have a desk that is in four pieces and it has to GO. It is yours for free if you want to figure out putting it back together. It is a contemporary desk (sort of IKEA-ish, although I think that we bought it at another Swedish furniture store called Scan). It is particle board but is much heavier and sturdier than you would expect. The finish is a warm oak color and is very pretty. We have assembled and disassembled this desk several times to move it over the years, and when we took it apart last week to move it for our carpet installers, the old screws just gave out. [Highland Park] Come see Once on This Island

Dear Neighbors, I would like to invite each of you to come see *Once on This Island *this Thursday, Friday and Saturday April 25, 26 and 27, evenings at Pittsburgh Obama Academy of International Studies. It will also be playing next Thursday Friday and Saturday May 2, 3 and 4. The students and directors have been working very hard and it promises to be another wonderful musical production in the best of Schenley/Reizenstein/Peabody and now Obama Drama tradition. I am the father of an 11th grader. I think the school is one of Pittsburgh best public schools featuring the International Baccalaureate program, with an excellent group of teachers and administrators who are hardworking and dedicated to our children. If you are a parent of children and considering the IB program, this show is a wonderful way to see the school in action as well as mingle with many of the students, parents and teachers who will be there. If you are not a parent of school age children, this very positive neighborhood event is worth coming to anyway. The musical director does a wonderful job of bringing out the best of her students on a dime budget. Most other nights are not sold out, but it you plan on attending the May 3 or 4 shows, I would recommend buying your tickets in advanced. Hope to see you there. Paul Scherrer
