I am a long time Highland Park resident looking for an apartment to rent and would like to stay in the area. Immediate occupancy desired. [Highland Park] Lake Carnegie

I was at the Highland Park Pool earlier today and Thomas Scott, who is the Operations Manager of Orkin Pest Control Commercial Services, was looking at the algae in the lake with his colleague. I spoke with him about the algae situation. He said that if his company had a contract with the city, they would treat the algae with Cutrine-Plus Algaecide/Herbicide, which he assured was a "safe" and natural way to treat the problem. I asked if it would be helpful for residents to contact the city to encourage treatment of the algae and he agreed that it would help them to get a contract to do so. So, if you are concerned, you may want to contact the city. [Highland Park] Sewer line inside of the house

Hello all, I have found that the sewer line from basement drain to the front of my house has decayed and according to one plumber, needs to be replaced. The line has backed up into my basement repeatedly, clearly something needs to be done. Has anyone gone through the same thing? What did you do to resolve the problem? Any lessons learned?
