[Highland Park] Rally for Public Education This Saturday

Dear Highland Park Friends, This Saturday in the Schenley Plaza in Oakland from 11 a.m. - Noon, there will be a rally for Public Education. The rally is just one hour, but it will be powerful. TV, newspapers, and radio will be there. We are hoping to get as many people, from all walks of life, at the plaza. We are there to show Harrisburg education funding needs to be restored to our public schools and universities. When public education suffers property values go down! Neighborhoods suffer! Even if your children go to private school, you have a stake. Even if you have no children, you have a stake. People from schools and school districts all over Western Pennsylvania are coming. [Highland Park] Free Weight Bench and Pull-Up/Dip Bar

I'm getting rid of two pieces of exercise equipment: (1) a weight bench (weights and bar not included), and (2) pull-up/dip bar. I just got a new piece of equipment which takes the place of both. The bench is fully assembled; it could use a spot-weld on the underside, but I've been using it for years with no problems. The pull-up bar is perfect, but I had to disassemble it partially to get it out of the house. It's now in four pieces; reassembly would take one person about a half hour. I'll be putting these out on my curb (on Beverly Place, near Negley) this Sunday, February 12, 2012. Anyone who wants them is welcome to them. If anyone wants them sooner, please e-mail me and I'll put them out on the curb sooner. Thanks -- C.

Hello Fellow Neighbors, The Dilworth Elementary PTA will be running an Easter Chocolates fundraiser with *Joe Clark Candies *this year. *Joe Clark Candies is a local family owned chocolate factory that has been making delicious chocolates since 1937. *Plus, new this year, four items from Fudgie Wudgie, another local company. The profit from this fundraiser will go towards Dilworth’s *End-of-the-Year*school picnic to Camp Guyasuta for the students. Since this is the time of year when everyone is looking for that unique gift to give, it is a great opportunity to raise money to help with our goal.
