Hello All, Wearing my hat as property manager, we have an office/retail space for rent available for December 1st. It is in the building with the Smiling Banana Leaf and the laundromat. There is an office there right now. It is 2 rooms, which could easily be made into 1 large room if needed. The space is 667 square feet with a small kitchen and bathroom in the back. Rent is 800.00 a month, roughly 14.40 per SF. As most of you know, the street is blowing up and this is a rare chance to get in on Bryant Street. Standard commercial lease with the tenant responsible for all utilities and HVAC. The rent includes water, sewage, garbage, and snow removal maintenance. Hello, folks! Throughout the past year, a team of passionate and dedicated people have been working to get Jeremiah’s Place, Pittsburgh’s first crisis/relief nursery, up and running. I recently joined the board, and am co-chairing a fundraiser to be held on Thursday night, December 13th. www.jeremiahsplace.com In the midst of pain and brokenness in our society, our desire is to bear witness to the wonder of love and expression of love in healthy relationships. We know that children who are exposed to violence and adverse childhood events during their early childhood are at risk for later mental health disorders, substance abuse problems, as well as common medical illnesses including diabetes and heart disease. It is imperative to start securing a healthy future for our society by preventing instances of trauma in early childhood. To help us fundraise to begin to create this atmosphere, we are holding a show called “The Art of Love” at the Pittsburgh Public Market on Thursday, December 13th from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm. The idea is to demonstrate what love looks like in its multitude of expressions. Any kind of piece would be great: photograph, sculpture, canvas, etching, multimedia: you name it! There are just as many ways to express the art of love as there are to express the love itself! We ask that artists donate at least one piece to be sold to help fundraise for Jeremiah’s Place. Please recommend a suggested retail price. Jeremiah’s Place will provide a letter acknowledging your donation for tax purposes. If an artist would rather exhibit than donate, or would like to exhibit pieces in addition to a donated piece, space will be on an as-available basis, and the artist should make arrangements to either be at the event, pick up the piece afterwards, or have a representative pick it up. If you would like to submit a piece, or know an artist who might, or if you have any questions, please contact me with “Art of Love” in the subject line. The Pittsburgh Public Market is located between 16th & 17th Streets on Smallman Street in the Strip District, across the street from Costume World. Since the Market is open all weekend, and the show will begin at 5:30 pm on December 13th, all artwork must be brought to the Market sometime between Monday, December 10th and 3:00 pm, Thursday December 13th. Arrangements must be made in advance. If you’d like to submit a piece and can’t get it to us, we’ll do our best to be able to pick it up from you, so just let us know! [Highland Park] ANOTHER black cat...

I sincerely hope the two previous posts were about the same cat! I trapped a black cat on Avondale about a month ago and took him to the ARL. He was not chipped, and has since been fixed, vaccinated and chipped. They called me after about 2 weeks because he had developed an upper respiratory infection. I've been fostering him for just over two weeks and am going to be returning him in the next couple days. He is adorable, and an INCREDIBLY sweet guy. I named him Teddy Bear because when you pick him up, he just presses himself right up against you and almost form-fits your body. He's still shy at first when I go into his room, but comes out to see me, snuggle and purr within about 1-2 minutes. He's still very tentative about open spaces, and makes no attempt whatsoever to leave the room I have him in when the door is open. He's seen my cats, though not interacted with them at all, and doesn't seem to mind them one way or the other. He's mostly black, with a little bit of a white bib, and some white on his belly. He also has some cute little two-hair-wide white stripes on one of his paws. He LOVES having his belly scratched, and being scratched behind his ears and under his chin. He uses the litter box, and I wish I could keep him, but I have four, three of which have medical conditions. If you are looking for a sweet addition to your family, and you have the patience to let him hide for a few days, please consider checking him out. [Highland Park] Free Chair

I have a wing back chair that I no longer need. It was given to me by some neighbors a few years ago, and I replaced it with a leather recliner that my sister gave me. The chair is about 30 inches front to back, 42 inches high, and 36 inches wide at the front. It is a comfortable chair, and a little wider than my other chairs. But I no longer have room for it, and have to get it out of the house. It has a few worn spots on it at the front of the arms, but the stuffing is not coming thru. The chair originally came from a house with a dog and cat, but has been in my house for several years. If you are interested in the chair, let me know. Thanks Bob bob.63(a)netzero.net
