To my Highland Park neighbors: I live on Bunker Hill Street and am involved in research at UPMC. We are recruiting pregnant women for a study. Are you pregnant? Are you in your first trimester? You can help researchers at the University of Pittsburgh understand how your sleep affects your pregnancy. You may qualify if: -You are in the first trimester of pregnancy -You are between the ages of 18 and 45 -You are in generally good health -You are willing to provide 3 blood samples. Call for Newpapers - Fulton Garden Instead of recycling your newspapers at the curb, bring them to Fulton Elementary instead - No shiny paper circulars, just newspaper please. We are being ecologically friendly and using newspaper instead of plastic to kill the weeds in the Fulton Elementary garden, so we need a lot of newspaper. A bin will be in the alcove between the two front doors of the school beginning Monday, June 25th. Many thanks to all the great neighbors who volunteered this week and took down vines from the fences, removed tree trunks and potted many plants that we want to keep for the garden once it's ready to be planted again. On June 26th at 6p, bring your best shovel if you Dig Digging Dirt. We will be turning over the dirt in preparation for putting down newspaper and mulch. [Highland Park] Cat found!!

Hello, This morning I found a cat hiding in my backyard (I live on Bryant St) in the bushes. It is a female, short-haired black and white cat with a big belly. I thought she was pregnant because of her size, but after bringing her to the Animal Rescue League, the vet tech confirmed that she is NOT pregnant. The vet actually indicated that she had recently been spade (she still has stiches from the procedure). She doesn't appear to be hurt/injured in any way, and was very friendly. If this sounds like your cat, please contact me. The rescue league gave me an ID number for the cat, so if this is your pet, you will be able to go get her! I've attached some photos. I hope she belongs to someone, she is super friendly and sweet! -Anna
