I'm cleaning my studio space. People have given me many tile samples and broken plates. I'd like to recycle/share with someone who can use them. I have: 4", 6" and 12" tiles several 6" blue/white commemorative/antique design tiles slag balls (glass factory remnants). 2 trays to mosaic also giving a 10' x 10' canopy (bought at General Dollar). [Highland Park] Great Pilates/Yoga class at Union Project!- 2nd announcement

The wonderful pilates/yoga class that I recently wrote about has not been well advertised and should not be missed if you want a great core strengthening class. It is now scheduled on Wednesdays at the Union Project, from 5-6, but will change to 5:30-6:30 in June. Once again the class is a combination of Pilates/Yoga/Dance. I make sure that I save the space for the class in my schedule each week. By registering, you can help ensure that this class will stay close by in Highland Park! Gia really needs to have a core group of participants to make the class worth her while. On the Union Project Calendar, it is written up as: "Community Wellness Class - Gia Cacalano will teach a class designed to lengthen, tone, strengthen muscles while focusing on proper skeletal alignment and core stability. Cleaning for a Reason If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. [Highland Park] Specialized Roofer Recommendations

Hi Neighbors, We have two unique roofs which need to be replaced this summer. If anyone has recommendations for roofers who have completed these types of jobs, please send me their info! I will post the responses. Here are our situations: 1. Flat roof. We have a flat roof which is adjacent to a wood framed and sided parapet wall. We need a new torch- down ( modified bitumen) roof installed. I've been told that this is a potentially dangerous install due to the fire hazard, so we are looking for a roofer who has experience in precisely this situation. 2. Metal porch roof. We need a copper roof and concealed gutter system installed on a front porch. The roof includes curved sections. We only need the metal work done, not the carpentry. Thanks! [Highland Park] Slate Roofer Recommendations List

Thanks again to everyone who responded to my request for roofer recommendations. I've had some requests for the list to be sent out to the listserv, so here it is: We have used Schultheis Brothers. We have an older home and a slate roof and have never had a problem. We used Burns & Scalo after previous winter damage; not cheap, but very good work on our tile roof. Sangl roofing (Joe), they're a family business and based in HP, long standing specialty in slate, too. We use Likar Roofing for our slate roof. They are good but it takes them a while to get to you. Likar in North Versailles. We have slate and have used Likar. We use Likar. I can highly recommend Jason our roofer. We have slate shingles and he has worked on our house, neighbors and my parents. Jason's number is 889-6819 Sangle roofing. Sorry I don't have their number handy, but they are honest and reasonable.
