Hi HP-ers, Thought I would forward this on in case anyone out there would be interested in this unique adult art camp this June. See the info posted below. Have a good day, Jan ________________________________________________________________________ __ The East End Song Studio invites you to participate in "Opera Camp 2011: Harmonic Progression and The Short Story Opera." During the week of June 12th through the 18th we will engage in a study of tonal harmony, otherwise know as "chord progressions," and apply this knowledge as we create original operatic scenes based on short stories submitted by opera camp participants. Workshop sessions will take place from 6 to 9 pm on June 12th, 13th, and 14th , 16th , and 17th at First United Methodist Church in Shadyside. Wednesday the 15th will be a break with an optional overnight camping trip! Opera Camp will culminate in our "Performance Party" dress rehearsal on June 17th and party June 18th where we will perform the original scenes we have created over the week. Dress rehearsal and performance will be in the choir loft at First United Methodist Church. Registration for camp is now open and will close at midnight May 29th. You can register by emailing Jett Christensen, Camp Director, at eesongstudio(a)gmail.com. If you would like to submit a short story please email the text by midnight May 29th. The cost of camp is $200 due by the start of camp and includes one ticket for the performance party. East End Song Studio Members may pay their tuition on August 1st. Cost of the overnight excursion is not included in tuition. Opera Camp 2011 is for adults and mature teenagers with an interest in writing or singing. Hi neighbors, Does anyone have an electric stove to be used tomorrow night, Wednesday the 27th, for Family Garden Night at Dilworth Primary Academy? We have a gas stove that is only permitted for use on grass, and if it rains this means our guest chef has to stand out there under a tent while someone runs him quesadillas with an umbrella...!
