Four a number of years now the ancient Christian Festival of All Saints has been, at St. Andrew's in Highland Park, the center of a great celebration of music--and truly a highlight for both the parish and the community. Mark calendars now! Tell your friends! The Music Festival begins this year on All Saints Day itself, Tuesday Evening, November 1, when at 8 p.m. Thomas Octave, Director of Choral Music at St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, will conduct the All Saints Festival Chorus in a musical service, "Lessons and Carols for All Saints." The Festival continues on Thursday evening, November 3rd, also at 8 p.m., when the Choristers of St. Andrew's Church, under the direction of Matthew Derby, will sing a service of Choral Evensong. The St. Andrew's Choristers are children and young people who participate in a program of tradition musical training under the direction of the Royal School of Church Music. The program is always open to new youth participants. Come and hear them--and feel free to speak to Mr. Derby if you know a young person who might be interested. On Friday evening, November 4, at 8 p.m., pianist Nathan Carterette and cellist Rowena Gutana will present an "All-Bach" recital program, including the Goldberg Variations, and the Unaccompanied Suite for Cello. All these evening programs include a festive dessert reception, and all are welcome. The All Saints Festival concludes on All Saints Sunday, November 6, at 11 a.m., when St. Andrew's Parish Choir, under the direction again of Tom Octave, will be joined by the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra in a Choral Service of the Holy Communion, with F.J. Hi Neighbors! This list serve has always been such a great resource to find things that could not be found anywhere else! For that very reason, I'm sending a note out looking for a job....or perhaps a next career.... Not for me, but for my father, Ben Caplan, who has been searching for a while now. The only reason he's not the one posting this message is because he is not from Highland Park (not a member of the list serve), but rather he lives in North Hills. My dad is, among many things, a smart, business savvy individual, with years of business experience, both as an owner/operator of his own company and as an employee. While his expertise is in marketing, he is looking for a position in variety of fields including, but not limited to business management, marketing (telemarketing included), retail sales, etc. Really anything that will get him back in the game! I know occasionally people will list job openings on here and I thought I might seize the opportunity to be proactive and see if anyone knows of any opportunities out there. [Highland Park] For sale: Target hamper and toy box/blanket chest

We are selling a hamper and toy box/blanket chest purchased at Target (can send pictures on request). Toy box is approx 30x18x18" and is dark brown rough wicker/rattan, hamper is approx 18x12x24" and is dark brown wicker style, but much smoother finish. Lined with off-white muslin liner. Both are in good shape and come from a smoke-free home, but just aren't working for us storage-wise. Asking $50 for toy box, $30 for hamper, or $70 if you take both. Thanks for looking! Becky

Hello everyone, Well the $25 gift card didn't go for $20, so I thought I'd see if there are any takers for $15. Again, this was a gift to us from a charity event we volunteered for (I have the receipt as well). We have two dogs, but I gather that Elmer's Aquarium is geared toward small animals: http://www.elmersaquarium.com/ It actually looks like they have a great selection and that they are an independent business (in Monroeville), so it would be great to support them.
