I saw an article in the Post-Gazette and this event is happening very close to us! http://communityvoices.sites.post-gazette.com/index.php/arts-entertainment-… >From the article:Gather your unwanted clothing and accessories and donate them to the community-wide clothing swap, Redd Up Thread Up on November 12-13, 2011. In its third installment, Redd Up Thread Up has partnered with Assemble, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. Donations of gently used men’s and women’s clothing and accessories will be accepted November 7-11, 2011, from 4-8 pm at Assemble (5125 Penn Avenue). If you make a clothing donation, you will received a reusable tote bag at a discounted price ($5 on Saturday, Free on Sunday). If you do not make a clothing donation, you can purchase a bag for $10 Saturday and $5 Sunday. Purchasing a tote bag gets you admission to the event and all the clothing you want! I have a different kind of request. I am with the Highland group, but live in California now. I keep in touch though the group. Anyway, I was telling my grandson about buckeye's and how I used to collect them on my way home from school when I was little. I wanted to show him what a buckeye looked like and that maybe he could take to his first grade class for show and tell. Does anyone know if the buckeyes are still falling from the trees? [Highland Park] Help needed for Occupy Pittsburghers

The very cold folks camped out dahntahn at Occupy Pittsburgh need donations of cooked, healthy food. They need other things too. I am trying to cook soups, etc. at home and get them down to them, but don't have a car. If anyone would care to help in any way please know it would be greatly appreciated...Make food and take down. Or help me transport what I made (or get in supplies). Or go to their web site and look for what they have listed...occupypittsburgh.org . (Please keep in mind they have junk food already, need healthy offerings, some vegetarians/vegan, some really would jump for joy for some homemade chicken soup!) Thanks!!
