[Highland Park] Perogie recommendations

Well--this certainly hit a nerve. I had about 30 responses in one day on perogie places. Hands down, Perogies Plus in McKees Rocks had 14 votes so I will go with them. The Pittsburgh Market in the Strip got 4 votes and Rosi's Perogies in Pgh. Mills also had 4 votes. Several other places were recommended so thanks to everyone who loves perogies. --

[Highland Park] Park Bruges Opening

Well, we made it. Park Bruges will be open for business beginning Friday January 28 at 11AM. Our official announced opening date is Tuesday, February 1. However, we are quietly opening a few days earlier to help us ease into things. We hope our neighbors in Highland Park will come by and see what we have to offer. We truly appreciate all of the support from the neighborhood as we've been working away over these last few weeks. We've gotten so many thumbs up from people walking and driving by. It helped us see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our hours beginning Tuesday and going forward are Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM until 10PM, 9PM on Sunday. We serve brunch until 3PM on Saturday and Sunday. Closed on Monday. Hope to see you soon.

[Highland Park] Selling: Lamps and painting/poster

Hi! I have two large lamps, in perfect condition, but they do not go with our decor at all! I also have a framed print, it is a reproduction of a Cezanne still life, framed in a golden frame, size of the frame: 44"x34", quite massive for our apartment, so it would look really nice in a larger place, plus it does not match our decor either. We really would want these three items out of our place sooner than later, so we want to sell them for $25 each lamp and $30 the print. Thank you to all the people who responded to my request for ways to recycle an old CD player. It turns out there are several options, and as many people asked me to share the findings, here they are. Please forward this list and help keep these items out of landfills! *Best Buy* (closest locations are Water Front & McKnight Rd) - Their e-cycle program seems to take the widest variety of home electronics and it's mostly free. There's a $10 fee for some TVs and monitors but they then give you a $10 gift card. The limit is three items per person per day. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/null/Recycling-Electronics/pcmcat149900050025.c… *Construction Junction* (Point Breeze?) - They take many appliances, scrap metal, reusable building items, and many home electronics. There's contact information on the website, but not many specifics about the program. http://www.goodwillswpa.org/computer-recycling *The PA Resources Council *- They can direct you to places that take many home electronics, some for a small fee. [Highland Park] Great Dog in Need of a Great Home Immediately

Hi Neighbors, I am sending this email on behalf of our dog walker. She knows of a very loving dog in need of a good home immediately! Logan is a four-year-old, neutered black and white Staffordshire mutt adopted from the Animal Rescue League of Western PA. (He weighs 45-50lbs.) His current owners adopted him when he was between six and nine months. He has an AVID identification chip, his vaccinations are current and he takes heartworm medication in the summer. He has never had any medical conditions of any kind--no worms, fleas, etc. However, during the winter, he has developed an itch. His current owners have concluded that he is just allergic to something and since it is just goes away his vet (Fox Chapel AH, Dr. Uhl) has dismissed it. His current owners give him Benadryl and it goes away quickly. If there is any concern regarding this or anything else, his current owners are willing to pay for any medical check-ups. He was at the ARL because police removed him from a home. At first, he was very scared of being left alone, but he has never chewed anything at all. In fact, it took a while for him to get the concept of "play." However, his current owners would prefer that he not be left alone for long periods of time because he is very accostumed to spending his days with people and other dogs. Logan is an AKC-certified "Canine Good Citizen." His trainers could see him as a therapy dog because he is kind of the opposite of many dogs in that when he is touched he relaxes completely, rather than becoming more excited. He is *extremel*y eager to please and in lieu of treats just wants to be petted. He has lived with young children, cats and plays well with other dogs at the dog parks where he loves to run.
