[Highland Park] Frozen footprints

Dear neighbors: Please take a swipe with your shovel today on your sidewalk and we will all be most appreciative. Today, Thurs. is not too cold or windy, the sun is trying to come out and if your walk is clear, it will soon dry. If not, the trampled walk will be full of frozen footprints and thick ice which will make walking dangerous. The ice may last for days if it turns cold and children and others will walk in the streets to avoid falling. It may only take a few minutes tonight before it freezes, to make one shovels-width swipe and it will be clean and clear. Many thanks to our neighbor Richard, who mostly beats me to the shoveling in the morning and to all the Highland Park people who shovel after each snowfall. Of course, some are unable but if you can, please do so. --

Hello Pittsburghers! I am moving to the city in 2 weeks! Can you recommend a house or apt to *RENT* that is 1 or 2 bedrooms. No college students and/or larger than 600sq ft. Hi! My parents gave me a new washer and dryer for the holidays (!), and I want to pay their kindness forward by giving away my old set. The washer is front-loading (he-efficient), and the dryer is above it. They still work well--I bought them 5 years ago, and I have 4 kids, so as you can imagine, I have gotten my use out of them. :-) I tried the Vietnam Vets of America, but they won't take large appliances. If you know of any charities or any individuals who would benefit from an efficient washer-dryer set, please let me know. If I get lots of good ideas of organizations, I'll post them to the list!
