Hi neighbors, I just wanted to add a plasterer to our list of workmen. David Law 412 638-1834 just completed major repairs to our walls and ceilings from winter ice/snow damage. He does a great job and is so pleasant to work with. He will do small as well as large jobs. Given the amount of work he had to do we thought he was also reasonably priced. Marsha Aarons

Hi neighbors, My sister is getting married in November and is looking for the items below. Does anyone have these things that they'd be willing to either give or sell cheap? Thanks, meg Vintage glass cakestands - the more ornate the better, clear, pale or cobalt blue, pale green, pale pink, etc. Vintage milkglass planters Vintage embroidered napkins - ideally white or very light ivory backgrounds with pretty embroidery that are at least 12" square but preferably larger, ie dinner size. But other pretty colored backgrounds might work too. Vintage grosgrain ribbon in muted jewel tones - at least 1" wide.

Looking for an electrician who is willing to do a small job without a minimum charge AND is willing to come over and meet us and give an estimate and references even for a small job. We need an outside outlet moved up higher and changed to a quad. The two electricians I spoke to were not willing to come over and discuss options. Dear Highland Park Friends, Did you miss out on getting tickets to the 4th Annual Big Pour Event? You don't need a ticket to come to our Big Pour Preview Party! Spoon in the lounge 134 South Highland Avenue September 9th Starting @7pm We will be hosting brewers that will be at the Big Pour event to include Stone Brewing (Escondido, Ca), Victory Brewing (Downingtown, Pa) and Oskar Blues Brewing Company (Lyons, Co). Each company will be represented by several bottle choices and we are dedicating three tap handles to each . We will be pouring both 5oz tastes and 16oz pints of all beers on draught. We have a Frigidaire Gallery series fridge/freezer, side-by-side style, with an ice maker and filtered water, less than two years old and no dents or scratches. The compressor is dead and needs to be replaced. A new one costs about $200-300 we were told. Other than that, it was working fine. If interested, make an offer and haul it away: must go by Sunday. [Highland Park] Exterminator List

Neighbors, I've appended a list of all the recommendations made for exterminators. I went with Becker Pest control and cannot say enough nice things. He came out within 2 hours, placed glue traps, put bait, and the incidence of roaches has decreased dramatically. He even went next door and treated my neighbor's house (who could not pay) at no extra charge because it was the only way to solve the problem. Wonderful service and I'm a permanent customer. Thanks for all the help! -Michael- P.S. I should mention that ECI pest control was very good at returning my calls, but I had already gotten Becker out. Should Becker not be available, it seems ECI was conscientious. We recently had ants in our home and had wonderful luck with Terminix. The gentleman who treated our home worked for over an hour walking all around the house, around the infested area, and in the basement. His thorough treatment got rid of every ant. He was friendly and has been in the business for over 20 years. We have had great success with Critter Control - 412-767-4067. Everything is done humanely and the guy will find the place(s) where they entered and patch it up. My husband calls him The Great White Hunter. It's not cheap. The city will give you a save- a- heart trap but will only dispose of the first catch and then you are on your own. Hi: I use Witt, one of the oldest exterminators in Pittsburgh, and they do a great job of riding me of pests of all kinds. Their phone number is 412-681-1900.
