Hello Highland Parkers, We got one great employee from this listserve earlier this year, so I thought I'd try again. We are looking for an Accounts Payable assistant for our small but rapidly growing business, Littlearth. They would work in the accounting department entering invoices, reconciling payments, communicating with vendors and doing billing, filing etc. The position has a lot of data entry involved, so the best fit would be a person who is a fast, accurate typist, and a good problem solver. A basic understanding of accounting and some accounting experience is a plus, but an accounting degree is not necessary. The business is located on the Southside, convenient to bus routes. [Highland Park] $60 Douglas Fir available for $30

Through sheer stupidity, I purchased a truly gorgeous Douglas Fir (about 5.5 ft.) at Sestili's that is so dense and full I was unable to carry it into my house and set it up. I paid $60 for it (yesterday); I'll sell it for $30. I now own a less lush Douglas Fir from Home Depot -- same height -- which weighs less than half as much. I had no trouble setting it up. Lesson learned.

[Highland Park] Recommendations for Heating?

I live in a 90 year old house here in HP and am not sure if old boiler/heater is working properly. I'm not freezing-but I don't hear the furnace kick on like usual. Does anyone have a good recommendation of a person or company that I can call to check it out? I will be happy to post responses to the list. Thanks! Joan Anson

I won a six wk self-defense class for women that is on Saturdays 10-11:30 am from Jan 22-Feb 26 at the Wilkins School Community Center in Regent Square. $120 value. I'd take it but could really use the cash if anyone wants it. Would make a great gift for the holidays! Will sell for $90 OBO.

Hello Neighbors, I have a friend who is raising two sons ages 14 and 11, and just discovered that she nor her sons have boots for the winter. I know how generous Highland Parkers have been towards those in need. If anyone wants to free cycle some insulated winter boots (Women's size 6 1/2; Boys size 5; and Men size 9) I can pick them up this week. Thank you in advance. Carol Gagnon

[Highland Park] Kitens to a good home

Sending this on behalf of a friend of mine: She has 3 kittens that are 7 months old (siblings) and Black and Gold color (yes, I said Black and Gold). My friend cannot keep them because she already has 2 other cats (one had a litter). They are free to a good home; they do not need to stay together.
