Greetings, I am a relative newcomer to Highland Park (and Pittsburgh) and have discovered carpenter bees and their nests in my stand-alone garage. Is carpenter bee infestation a common problem in the area? Can I expect these insects to return every spring? I am debating whether to hire an exterminator for one-time removal and wood treatment; hire an exterminator for removal and annual wood treatment; or tackle the problem myself, and would appreciate any information relevant to making a decision. So, next Saturday June 13th they are having a tomato planting volunteer day from 9am - 3pm. Hi all, Sorry to post back to the entire list but I got many many responses to my request for someone to mow our lawn, and more keep coming in. It turned out that someone already working on my yard also does mowing, so I hired him for this task. I was amazed at how many people are available to do mowing in our neighborhood. I'm not going to summarize all the responses here because most are teenagers, but if you're looking for somebody I definitely recommend posting a request to the list. Sue
