The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) is sponsoring RADical days '08 - a yearly event where organizations that receive RAD funding offer free events to the public. There seem to be a lot of kid-friendly events that young families could experience for free.

Hi Neighbors, Our daughter attends Kindergarten at the new Environmental Charter School at Frick Park. The music teacher there is looking for donations of musical instruments. If anyone has anything they wish to donate, I would be happy to pick them up from you to take to her school. Following is the flyer that was sent out from the music teacher. Good quality, sturdy instruments that will endure frequent use by young children would be most welcome, especially those constructed with natural materials, for example, drums with a wood or metal body instead of plastic, and drum heads made of skin or leather instead of plastic. Neighbors, Please join me for a Walk in the Woods on Wednesday evening, September 24, 2008 at 6:30pm. We start at the fountain, walk in the woods as much as we can, and end back at the fountain. The walk is fun for everyone but keep in mind that paths and steps in the park can be uneven. Also, at this time of year the sun will be setting already by the end of the walk. This is the last Walk of the Woods for the summer. If any walks are scheduled for fall and winter, I'll send an update. Rudy

Looks interesting. -Heidi Greetings from Pittsburgh: Neighborhood Narratives Coming Soon to a Theater Near You Collection of Short Films about Pittsburgh's Neighborhoods to Debut in Local Theaters [Click here to see the Neighborhood Narratives trailer.] <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kBlVl87xyU> Greetings from Pittsburgh: Neighborhood Narratives - a collection of nine short films in which the city plays a starring role - will make its anticipated debut at the Regent Square Theater September 25, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. Screenings will continue throughout the city until November 8. Each short film is approximately 10-15 minutes in length, and all films will be shown together at each screening. Approximate total run time: 100 minutes. Following each screening, respective filmmakers will be on hand for post-performance Q & A. Most screenings will also be followed by a reception - see complete schedule below. Neighborhood Narratives is a film featuring the work of Nelson Chipman & Jeremy Braverman (Regent Square), Jason Georgiades (Bloomfield), Matthew J. Fridg & Jenn Golling (Homestead), Timothy Hall & Marc Nieson (Hill District), Justin Crimone (Downtown), John Rice (South Side), Justin Francart (Oakland), Sam Turich & Gab Cody (Lawrenceville), and Ray Werner (Strip District). The project is coordinated by Andrew Halasz and Kristen Lauth Shaeffer. Doors open 30 minutes before each screening and tickets may be purchased onsite at each venue. [Highland Park] Window Repair

Hi, Does anyone know of someone reliable who could repair a window frame for me? It appears that the wood around one of my windows has moved or warped in such a way that now the frame can't hold the bottom half of the window. I don't have any idea who to call for this, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Aimee DeFoe
