[Highland Park] Children's committee need

Hello neighbors. As announced at the last HPCC Meeting, I have decided that, after 4 years as Children's Committee Chairperson, it is time for me to pass the torch to someone else in Highland Park. It is a bittersweet decision for me as I have enjoyed the past years' opportunities to meet and get to know my neighbors. It has been so rewarding to see new friendships form in the neighborhood and to watch the joy on each child's face as he experiences something new and fun at one of the year's 4 children's events. I want to thank you for being such a supportive community that really seems to care about having these kinds of opportunities for our kids. There has never been a time without someone stepping up when the call was put out for help and I have appreciated that. I fully intend to stay involved with the Children's Committee in some capacity, but that means a new Chairperson will need to step up...If that is something you might consider doing, please feel free to contact me with any questions. I'm posting this on behalf of Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Co. Call number at bottom for further info. Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company announces open auditions for its production of August Wilson's Two Trains Running Saturday, February 16th, 2008 9:00am-5:00pm at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company 542 Penn Ave. On the Mezzanine Level Pittsburgh, PA Looking for: African-American women of all types, ages 16-32 African-American men of all types, ages 20 and up The show runs from May 8th -31st. Rehearsals would start in late March or early April. If you're interested in auditioning, please prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues, although you may only be asked to perform one. We're always looking for new faces from all walks of life, so if you don't have any dramatic monologues ready to go, or don't possess a headshot and resume, don't worry. We still want to see you. Open House for Kentucky Avenue School and Kentucky Avenue Childrens Center Saturday, February 23, 2008 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Kentucky Avenue School is a small, independent school for Kindergarten through Eighth grades, located on Kentucky Avenue at Negley in Shadyside. Our talented, dedicated faculty helps each child realize his or her innate potential for intellectual and personal growth. Kentucky Avenue School is committed to honoring differences in learning style while promoting excellence. We have a creative and dynamic curriculum that responds to the needs of our students while inspiring them to attain new levels of mastery and understanding. At Kentucky Avenue, our students experience the joy of learning. Our goal is to both nurture and challenge every student.
