My brother-in-law, Lindel Hodge, is an excellent contractor. He does general home improvements... installing flooring (not carpet) and windows (glass block and traditional). Building walls,i.e. stone, ect.., painting,and building additions. He recently built an entire second floor to an existing single family home using sustainable materials, FSC wood, and recycled materials from construction junction. Hi, I thought that I would inform the list that there was a pistol whipping and robbery at the corner of Mellon and Jackson where the apartment building is being remodeled this past Friday evening around 10pm. The police took around 10 - 15 minutes to respond. Please note, this is across the street from 817 Mellon which has been getting egged.

A Thanksgiving Eve service of the Holy Communion will be held at St. Andrew's Church on Wednesday evening, November 21, at 8 p.m. The service will include traditional hymns, a brief meditation, and an in-gathering of non-perishable foods for the East End Food Bank. [Highland Park] Car break-in on Winterton St

My car was broken into in the 1200 block of Winterton St. The thief seems to have used a screwdriver or something to jimmy one of the door locks and gained entry that way. Money seems to have been the thief's objective -- they took all the change they could find (there was no change lying out in plain sight, but the thief found $7.00 or so worth of quarters in the center console), plus a small flashlight, but left everything else. This was a good reminder not to leave anything of value in the car. --Chris Schroen

[Highland Park] Getting Egged

Hi Is your home getting egged? Three times this week our home 817 Mellon Street has gotten egged. This morning (Saturday) is the worst. Broken eggs all over the front door glass and porch as well as the second floor windows. We have no idea what time of the night this happened. We are filing a report wih the police. It is interesting that the houses next door and across the street were not hit. It looks like we are being singled out for some reason. We have an idea who might be doing it but hestitate to confront him. Is this some kind some kind of initiation? So be on a the lookout for kids with open egg cartons. Pierina Morelli
