[Highland Park] Police firing range evening use coming up

The Police department will be having a couple of "night fire" sessions in the next few weeks. These are for the new classes of recruits. The dates are: March 15 & 16 and March 29 & 30. Firing will take place from 6 PM until no later than 10 PM. If you have any questions call Rob Harrison, the Rangemaster, @ 412-665-3600. Except for this (and other occasional) night fire sessions, firing on the Range will generally adhere to the constraints worked out many years ago between the City and the HPCC: M - W, 9AM to 5PM -dk

Two members of the Board of Trustees of the Education InnovationsLAB Charter School will join me live on PCTV21, Pittsburghs Community Television station, at 3:00pm on Wednesday 8 March 2006. Youll get a explanation of the model, the status of the school, how to enroll, and our innovative approach to rejuvenating our Pittsburgh communities. Its a call-in show so if you join us, feel free to call if you have a question. The show will air several more time throughout the month. Ill send out an email with the dates as soon as I get them. On another note, we have placed at Tazza D'oro, the petition to the Pittsburgh Board of Education to grant a charter to the school. So, stop by for a spot of tea and sign our petition. Today was our first day and got 50 signatures for our effort. Please join us on our quest give Pittsburgh more options and high-quality choices. Hi, Just wanted to say that we had some excellend corned beef, along with homemade stuffed cabbage and peppers over the weekend at Highland Park Deli (formerly Sandy's). I spoke with Sandy himself - out of retirement and running the place again. Although, he still made the corned beef even when it was owned by other people for the past 5 years. Assistant Stained Glass Instructor Andrea Boykowycz is offering a workshop in decorating eggs in the Ukrainian "pysanky" style. This method uses hot wax and bright aniline dyes to develop intricate, multi-colored batiked designs. This is an ancient art, and the traditional Ukrainian designs involve symbolism that's both pagan and Christian -- but you can use these techniques to develop your own decorative style and symbolism, if you like! Classes will be on two consecutive Saturdays, April 1 and April 8, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Space is limited to 20 per workshop. A $5 materials fee will cover eggs, tools, wax and dye. FROM GLORIA FULLER. DO NOT RESPOND TO ME. My two friendly male cats (brothers) are in need of a home. We moved from a house to a condo and cannot have them at our new place. We took them to the Humane Society on Saturday but they are probably going to be transferred to the Animal Rescue League since that is where we got them. They are 9 years old, use the litter box, affectionate (after they get comfortable) and they get along very well together. They have their shots, are neutered and are good cats. They do not hiss, bite or even meow too much. They also do well with children over 2. They can contact me at 412-913-0278
