Hi All, Just a reminder about the Tazza D'Oro Customers v. Employee softball game tomorrow (Monday, June 20th) at 6:30 pm at the Farm house field. Immediately following the game there will be a cookout at Tazza D'Oro with Jake and his band playing some good music. If anyone out there has bats, please bring them. Education Innovations, Inc. invites people with all types of thumbs to join us as we launch NatureLABcommunity beside the Jubilee Kitchen in Uptown. The Details: What: Launching NatureLABcommunity (Garden Build Day) When: Saturday 18 June 2005 Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm (come for a little bit, or stay for the whole thing.) Bring: Nothing except your enthusiasm and expertise if you got it. Food from the grill and drinks will be provided the whole day. We will be building 13 raised bed gardens, planting a large pumpkin patch to get ready for a fall harvest festival, and enjoying the company of other caring community-minded Pittsburghers. See you there! This garden build day is made possible by a grant from NiSource. Hi All, I am so glad its summer. On June 23rd Tazza DOro will celebrate 6 years of being in business. I want to thank all of you for your loyal support and business. Many thought that a business like Tazza DOro would never make it in Highland Park. I was recently told by a prominent media/Pittsburgh person that Tazza DOro is on its way of becoming a landmark in Pittsburgh. My employees and customers should pat themselves on the back. Thank you all. Most importantly, on June 20th at 6:30 pm, Tazza DOro will host its 2nd annual Customers v. Tazza DOro softball game at the Farmhouse Field (on top of Heberton). Right after the game Tazza DOro will also host a cookout for all players and spectators at the café with music by our own Jake Lexso. As many of you know, I spend part of my week working at a small non-profit (Working Order), which assists folks, with and without disabilities, seeking the opportunity to start their own businesses/self-employment. So as part of the softball game and cookout, I am asking that you please attend and also donate $5-$10 dollars toward Working Order. All the fun, music, food and brew is on the house but your donation will help a lot of people who inspire me everyday. My employees have been saying to all those fired up about the game BRING IT!!!! We discovered our dog missing yesterday afternoon. She is a medium size (40 - 45 pounds.) black Lab mix, who answers to the name "Sammie". Some of Sammie's distinguishing features: Short legs and a longish body; an older dog(about 10 years) ; grey muzzle ; very visible cataracts ; mole on top of her head If anyone has seen this dog or has taken her in, please Contact Tania or Jeff Grubbs at (412) 661- 4054. Hi! I'm interested in working with kids this summer, as a babysitter or a tutor or something in between--basically, I love playing with kids, and teaching them about reading, writing, and art in fun ways. I'm seventeen years old and just graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in Northern Michigan, where I studied creative writing. I have a lot of experience teaching children from working at the Young Writer's Institute, babysitting, and founding a twice-a-week poetry club at an elementary school down the street from my school, as well as being a sister to a spunky 6-year-old. I live in Highland Park and will be in Pittsburgh until the middle of August. I will spend next year living and working in Israel, and will attend Yale University the following fall.
