Thanks to the folks that have responded positively about seeing the HP photos. Someone from the HPCC will have to let me know if they would like me to show the set of photos at a meeting to a large group. It won't work on an individual basis. I will be doing these photos for myself, even if no one at the HPCC is interested. It wasn't my intention to have a group project. It's just that as the group of photos grows, I thought it might be nice to share them with like minded people. Thanks David Aschkenas

To anyone interested in photographs of HP. I have been photographing HP for the past several months on a daily basis, during my walks. The number of interesting photos is becoming quite large. I was wondering if the HPCC would be interested in producing a calendar or seling photos as a fund raiser? I plan on keeping up this project for at least one year, working through all of the seasons. If anyone is interested in seeing the photographs, perhaps we can arrange a "show & tell" for a group. My background briefly.. Life long, at least so far, resident of HP, freelance photographer for the past 20+ years, grants from the NEA and the Polaroid Corp., over 50 photo shows around the country, most recently at the Mendelson Gallery in ShadySide in June. Photo are in many private and Corporate collections including the Carnegie MOA. If anyone is interested..send me an email. Thanks David Aschkenas

Join the Highland Park History group at the Farmhouse on Tuesday, November 11 at 7:30 pm to learn more about area history and share stories, photos and post cards. This will be the first meeting of the group; subsequent meetings will be held quarterly. Please let me know if you plan to attend and if so whether you plan to bring anything to show or talk about. [Highland Park] Scouting at St. Andrew's

Are you a former Boy Scout? Are you parents of a boy aged 7-16 who might be interested in scouting? Would you be interested in working with a team here at St. Andrew's to build a new Cub/Boy Scout program in our neighborhood? For many years St. Andrew's sponsored a neighborhood Cub/Boy Scouting program, though the last incarnation disbanded three or four years ago. The Pittsburgh Scout Council is exploring the possibility of developing a new outreach to boys aged 7-16 here in the Highland Park neighborhood, and St. Andrew's is glad to serve as host and institutional sponsor. But we need 5-6 folks, parents, former scouts, interested community members, to take the leadership role. Good training and ongoing support will be provided. Hi Everyone, Well it's finally here! PHEW! Tazza D'Oro will be having an election party on Nov 2nd beginning at 7:30 pm. As always, we will provide complimentary snacks and I think there are a few bottles of wine in the kitchen. You are also welcome to bring something to share. [Highland Park] ALL SAINTS FESTIVAL BEGINS

The All Saints Music Festival at St. Andrew's Church begins Wednesday afternoon, November 3rd, at 5:30 p.m., with a traditional service of Choral Evensong sung by one of our region's finest children's choirs, the boy and girl Choristers of Calvary Church, under the direction of Dr. Alan Lewis. This event will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us, and most especially for those with younger children or grandchildren who enjoy music and who might enjoy hearing a children's choir singing at such a high level.
