The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority and the Pittsburgh Fire Bureau are testing the water system to ensure that it meets the needed fire flow from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents in the Downtown area will be notified if evening work is done. Testing at each location should take approximately 30 minutes. While hydrants are being operated, residents in the area may experience low pressure and dirty water. If dirty water is experienced, residents are advised to let their water run for approximately 10 minutes, or until the water clears. The work is beginning in Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, East Liberty, Morningside and other eastern neighborhoods.
