[Highland Park] Penn Forest Second Annual Picnic - Saturday, June 9th - 11 to 3
Hi Neighbors, Pennsylvania's first green cemetery is near Highland Park in the Penn Hills/Oakmont/Verona area on 32-acres of meadow and forest land. Each year we invite our neighbors to tour the park and have a BYO picnic lunch with us. See the invitation below. Lots of interesting items this year: . We're announcing the opening of our new green pet cemetery . Artist Maritza Mosquera will explore a drawing journey of trees with participants . Volunteers will conduct tours every half hour . Bring your camera and enter our photo contest . Pete and Nancy will conduct an open Q and A session on the green burial option and our forest restoration program . Last year we celebrated the opening Penn Forest and this year we are celebrating a year of great progress at the cemetery and increased awareness of the green burial option in Pittsburgh.
