I have had a couple of postal package anomalies over the last few weeks. One was a package that was apparantley delivered, according to the tracking info. It turned out to have been delivered to an address 2 blocks away, and was eventually returned to me. "Um, it's a new guy" was the excuse from the the post office. Next, just a week or so ago, a package containing half my prescriptions was apparantley (according to the tracking info again) 'Out for delivery' having arrived at our local post office, for over a week. Several frustrating conversations later, and it turns out my package is simply sitting on a shelf, waiting for me to come collect it........they just forgot to tell me, plus it should simply have been delivered. Again, the anomalous new guy was blamed, and certainly, there are days each week when the mail is deposited anywhere but the mailbox. However, on the second occasion, the guy I made contact with at the post office, was also quipping "ha, ha, yeah, he's a new guy, but ha, ha, this is my first day on the job too, ha ha." This guy then, despite all his promises to look into the missing package, did not a thing, and when I call back days later, the NOT new guy says "hmm, hang on" walks across the room, and 10 seconds later; "Yeah, here it is". Certainly I believe there is evidence to suggest people are stealing packages from porches, but I do wonder, with these personal instances, just how many of these missing packages might not be missing in the strictest sense? Because the first two were USPS, I assumed the post office lost them. However, I had a UPS package that was supposedly left on my porch disappear earlier this week.

I filed a claim for the second two packages and wanted to get some community feedback before I file a police report.
