Just wanted to update the neighborhood on the tree recycling that happened this weekend. Sending out a big THANK YOU to so many for supporting this effort and for keeping trees out of the landfill! We were able to collect around 140 trees yesterday! And another Girl Scout troop collected 90 on Saturday! And there was a BSA troop who picked up about 35 trees as well, delivering them to the goats in Garfield! (All of the exclamation points for this one. ;-) ) Over the past 10 years, our troop has kept around 1300 trees from the last fill, and I hope even more by raising awareness of why folks shouldn't put their trees out for the trash. THANK YOU for making this a success story!
