I want to thank the neighbours and the police department for the quick response and considering this situation a serious concern. If I may suggest, please install your monitoring device in the area of the community gardens; you'll have better success as there's a stop sign further toward the tennis courts. By the time they reach that stop sign prior to the tennis courts, they normally do stop (or at least slow down) and don't seem to pick up as much speed directly in front of the tennis courts themselves. There's also a blind "corner" as Stanton rounds right past the community gardens. While there's a "SLOW Hidden Driveway" sign, as I pull out of the driveway, my car has come close to being t-boned more than a few times. It's a great corner to tilt the bike into the corner and accelerate....... If there's anything we as residents can do to assist, please let us know. Once again, thank you for your time. The weather gets nice and those of us that live on the block of Stanton Avenue leading into the park have to kiss goodbye a peaceful weekend. For most of this afternoon, our ears were pleasured with the thundering gargle as nearly 40+ motorcycles paraded up and down our street. I especially enjoyed the exhaust fumes creeping into my house and they crawled by. But, so as not to bore us, we were treated for a few hours of drag racing! The speed limit is 25mph and I bet I could have clocked them doing 65 - 85 mph. We have too many children on this street who play near the tennis courts to tolerate this behaviour. As I do every year, I phoned 911, but today I had to phone twice. The second time I requested the car to stop at my home so I could speak with the officer. He said he would drive down the street but there's not much he could do. I suggested placing a few cars on the street to catch and ticket them in hopes of Stanton Avenue developing the reputation as a "hot spot" - so don't race here. He did offer to take the problem back and they would possibly have a few cars frequent our street more often during the weekends. His suggestions was for as many of those that live on this street to phone Mayor Ravenstahl's 311 line and voice our concern about the noise and the excessive speeding.
