RE: [Highland Park] Paving reservoir walkway
On a related topic, it's occurred to me that there should be a painted crosswalk at the main Highland Avenue park entrance so that pedestrians walking to the fountain or reservoir can do so w/o risking being run over. Because of the traffic pattern, it's necessary to look over the left shoulder as one crosses. It's easy to miss cars that come up suddenly, and they don't always yield. Likewise, bicyclists come up suddenly in the bike path and never seem to stop for pedestrians (or even ring a bell or yell that they're approaching). If no one has been hurt yet, it will probably happen eventually. I've been noticing the uneven surface is making it much more difficult to walk, now that I have some issues with my knee from getting older.
