- www.unionproject.org - AUGUST'S FIRST FRIDAY /AND /FIRST SATURDAY @ UNION PROJECT- IT CAN'T BE! The folks at the Union Project are relentless in providing for you endless summer good times. THIS FRIDAY, August 4th from 6-8 pm we will have *DJ Nuke Nocca,* cool refreshments and lots of old school games like, (do I even need to say it) *BOCCE BALL*. Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm August 5th, we will have *DJ Omar-Abdul,* Homegrown Saturdays (the farmer's and artist market), games and art activities for kids and adults (yes, bocce is available) and the Union Station Cafe. New Clay Classes Begin in August A new slate of clay classes, including beginning wheel throwing, large-scale wheel throwing, open studio, and a teapot workshop are beginning the 3rd week of august. BIG NEWS Saturday, September 30th, the Union Project is hosting the very first RIB COOK-OFF! Celebrity judges, a very unique crowning ceremony for the winner, aka, "Dutch or Duchess of Ribs" and live music is just some of what you can expect from this event. That's not all- the winner gets a spot as our only *BBQ preferred vendor* and a spot to cook and sell ribs next year from May-September- RENT FREE! So, come and join us Saturday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Union Project and keep your eyes open for an entry form to be posted to our website. Contact events@unionproject.org for more information. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR VERY FUN TASKS! We are looking for 10-15 volunteers for the events posted above. There are a variety of areas that need the special touch of a volunteer such as leading a game of bocce ball, or badminton, painting a child's face, setting up a colorful tent or creating something glorious from Popsicle sticks.
