This Week at St. Andrew's: Special Services
#1 Last week we were at St. Thomas Oakmont, next week we'll be at St. James in the Penn Hills, but THIS evening, Tuesday, March 1, St. Andrew's is the "host parish" for the 2016 Tuesday Evening Lenten "East End Parishes" Lenten Series. Dinner will be served in Barley Hall beginning at 6 p.m. The Lenten Service will begin at 7 p.m. in the Church--a Choral Service of the Holy Communion, and welcoming as our preacher the Rev. C. Garrett Yates, a "son" of St. Andrew's now serving as Curate of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mount Lebanon. All are welcome as we share this resource for Lenten enrichment. #2 On Thursday evening, March 3, the Parish Choir of St. Andrew's Church will sing Choral Evensong, with the service music composed by Thomas Tallis and the anthem, "Lord, Let me know mine end," by Maurice Greene. Following the service there will be a brief musical recital featuring St. Andrean (and one time Highland Park mainstay!) Betty Reiley, piano. The evening concludes with a reception in Brooks Hall.
