This is Jeff from Home PC Repairs. I was just contacted by a company via phone which claimed they were scanning the internet and determined that I had malware. They asked me to confirm my name and address and at that point I cut them off. *NO LEGITIMATE COMPANY WOULD EVER ASK FOR THIS INFORMATION*. Do not give *ANY* information. Try to get the name of the company and do as I did. Report this company and their phone number to the FTC. I've had people call me from Highland park and tell me that this company was at that moment doing a remote assistance to "scan" their computer. They also wanted to charge 179.00. Please contact me with any questions. Don't ever give out your sensitive information to any caller that you can't confirm (an exception is if you're talking to the Electric company and they ask for your account number to look up you can do so if you instigated the call or can prove who they are). I'm always here to help, and I'm available to meet any PC need.
